Why Be Healthy?

Health is a vehicle, not a destination.

Excellent health is about more than just feeling good. Normally, when you are feeling low, dealing with a medical problem, or trying to lose weight, you think of health as something to achieve.

Of course, good physical health is an important goal, but if you simply stop there, you will miss out on so much more.

Robust health allows us to be active in the world and achieve more than we can when we are tired or sick. Your health is your most valuable asset.

You may be interested in reading this or other blogs hoping to learn the secrets of the "perfect" diet, but the reality is: NUTRITION IS MORE THAN WHAT IS ON YOUR PLATE. Wellness is composed of many factors, not just the food you consume.

Imagine waking up every morning excited for your day. Envision what your life would look like as your best self.

What would it be like if you experienced high-level wellness most of the time?

Sadly, most people never allow themselves this experience. They eat processed junk food, don't move their bodies, and don't think about their health until they are diagnosed with illness.

Most of us deal with health "concerns" like headaches, constipation, sugar crashes, and low energy as recurring, normal parts of life.

The first step is to shift away from a "fitting-in" mentality. By continuing to expend large amounts of energy and resources just to fit in (with society, diet culture, etc.), you ultimately have less strength to focus on the important aspects of your life. You may even create health problems for yourself.

We have all heard the saying, "This is your life, not a dress rehearsal." Do we really grasp the message? Now is the time to take action toward accomplishing whatever dreams, ideas, or goals may be lingering in the back of your mind.

One of the most effective ways of making change in your quality of life (and investing in your future) is addressing and improving the way you eat. What we eat breaks down in our bodies and shapes our lifestyle. It's hard to find something as significant as that. The food you put in your mouth, along with everything else OFF the plate that nourishes you, create the fuel with which you operate.

What's holding you back? The more specific you are, the easier it is to plan and make tiny habit shifts.

The surest path to success (whatever that means for you) is by taking action.

You do not need to know all the steps. Just take the first one.
