Running on Empty?




I'm sure you've heard me say "food is fuel, just like gas for a car." Filling your plate is akin to filling your tank with fuel.


But before we can talk about filling our tank, we need to get a better understanding of what it means to leave our bodies running on empty.

Exhaustion or Lack of Energy

Cravings

Weight Gain or Bloating

Headaches

Low Immune System

Acne or Other Skin Conditions


So many of these things we use a band-aid for: we drink coffee, feed into our cravings, try detoxes, pop a Motrin, or just call it "part of getting older."

However, you can only put a band-aid on something for so long before that band-aid stops working. It still doesn’t help us get to the root of the problem. If any of these signs sound familiar to you, you're not alone. You also don't need to presume that these are just symptoms you have to deal with for the rest of your life.


I encourage you to take a step to understanding your body is telling you it's running on empty or not properly fueled. The smallest shifts and habits are the most effective ones.
