When you get sidetracked, overwhelmed, or aren’t sure what to do next, it’s a perfect time to circle back to the 4 simple pillars of wellness, the fundamentals – and to do what works for YOU for each of them.
Your 4 Pillars of Fitness & Wellness:
Healthy nutrition (fuel your body!)
Regular exercise (move your body!)
Sleep (recharge your body!)
Relaxation (including mindset work) & Rest
When you make time for these 4 pillars – and are INTENTIONAL and CONSISTENT with them – you feel SO MUCH BETTER.
You have more energy, your mood is better, and you’ll probably have fewer aches & pains. Things just feel easier. This feeling of confidence will make it even more doable to LIVE your healthy habits.
I know that when I don’t pay attention to my 4 pillars, I can’t wait to get back to them because it makes such a big difference in how I feel and function.
Want a tiny action plan to help you stick with your own pillars?
Here’s a little assignment:
Come up with 2-3 core actions for each of YOUR pillars, that always help you feel great.
Write them down so you always have a plan in case you find yourself a little off track.
Own your habits!
It is easy to get bogged down trying to find the best plan for change: the fastest way to lose weight, the best fitness program, the perfect this, the perfect that.
We are so focused on figuring out the best approach that we never get around to taking action!
It's all well and good to plan, strategize and learn.
But action is the behavior that produces an outcome. If you search the internet for how to eat healthy, that's fine... but if you actually eat a healthy meal, that's action. If you talk to a personal trainer, that's a good step. But only until the action of working out occurs will you act towards real results.
If you want to master a habit (or implement it more), the key is repetition. Consistency. You don't need to get everything perfect beforehand. Just start practicing it! (Like your trainer will tell you: "Get your reps in!")
