Start Small, Make a Plan - Plus Exciting News

With the holiday season and the New Year right around the corner, you may be starting to repeat to yourself that one excuse more and more often... You know, the one It goes a little something like... "I'll start next year..."

Here's the thing. When we want to make big changes in our lives — whether that be regarding our health, our careers, our relationships, our finances — we often (and mistakenly) try to go from 0 to 100.

We go from never doing the thing to thinking we need to do it 24/7. For example, working out for 30 minutes a day may feel impossible. But, what about doing just 1 push-up a day? Studies show that by combatting the resistance to getting started and doing just 1 push-up, you're more likely to continue working out and make it the entire 30 minutes!

In your nutrition and wellness, you might feel like the biggest struggle is not having enough guidance, structure, or accountability. Combine this with fear of trying something new, bad experiences in the past with dieting, or the overwhelm of all of the information out there that makes being healthy seem too hard.

As this year winds down and you begin to reflect on 2022 and plan for 2023, I want you to consider what sort of plan you can implement to help you reach your goals faster and more sustainably. Your goals don't need to be huge. In fact, make them tiny!

Build small habits that are sustainable, and you'll be surprised at the amount of progress you make. Here's to starting now and starting small.
