7 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Forming New Healthy Habits

You've heard the buzzword "mindset" and how it lays the foundation for transformation, both mental and physical. But what exactly is your mindset composed of... specifically when you are ready to begin making changes in your health and wellness?

Below is a breakdown of the most important questions to consider when beginning a new habit or program.

1

AM I DOING THIS FOR MYSELF?

It's great to be inspired by others, but you must understand why the habit is important to you specifically.

2

WHAT IS MY "WHY?"

How will this habit help you lead a healthier, happier life and achieve your goals?

3

WHAT IS THE LONG-TERM POTENTIAL OF THIS HABIT?

Think about whether the habit will still be meaningful and worthwhile many years into the future.

4

IS IT REALISTIC AND ACHIEVABLE?

Don't fall into the trap of doing too much, too quickly, or taking an unstainable approach and burning out.

5

DO I HAVE A PLAN?

What will you have to do or change to make sure the habit becomes and stays a part of your life?

6

WHAT CHALLENGES AM I LIKELY TO ENCOUNTER?

By identifying stumbling blocks, you'll make sure they don't turn into a reason to abandon the habit entirely.

7

HOW WILL I KEEP MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE?

Come up with a system to keep track of new habits to ensure consistency and ongoing positive results.

This last aspect, accountability, is perhaps the most impactful in maintaining healthy habits. This is where I come in and provide the framework and support system wherein you can pursue the steps toward your goals.
