6 Ways to Use Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a very popular "staple" in most kitchens. Its versatility and functionality make it a must have in your pantry! From baking to cleaning to medicinal remedies, ACV is much more than just a salad dressing ingredient.

Natural Preservative

Like most vinegars, ACV is an effective preservative. It makes foods more acidic by deactivating enzymes and killing bacteria that causes foods to spoil.

Beauty Product

Because of its antibacterial properties, ACV can eliminate odors, making it a natural alternative to deodorants or air neutralizers. You can make a foot soak by mixing it with water and Epsom salt. You can make a 1:1 ratio mix with water and pour it on your hair, leave it a few minutes, wash it out for a detangling and shine effect! Want a natural teeth whitener? Dab a little on a cotton ball and rub it on your teeth before rinsing well.

Detox Drinks

ACV can help you feel full, thereby helping you eat fewer empty calories. Some studies show that it helps you lose weight and reduces belly fat. It also lowers blood sugar and reduces insulin levels.

Mix 1/2 tablespoons with water and drink 1-3 times per day.

Or try this:

Honey Cayenne Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 Tablespoons honey ideally raw and local

1 dash cayenne pepper

2 cups of warm/hot water

INSTRUCTIONS Mix together, taste and add more sweetener if needed. Serve cold over ice.

All-Purpose Cleaner

Again, thanks to its natural antibacterial properties! Dilute with water and put in a spray bottle for easy access. Also, you can mix 1/2 cup water with 2 tablespoons ACV and 2 teaspoons baking soda and drop your toothbrush in the mixture for 30 minutes to disinfect.

Lower Blood Sugar

Drinking ACV after a high-carb meal can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood sugar.

Helps Sore Throats

ACV is a popular home remedy for sore throats due to its antibacterial properties. Mix it with water and gargle it!

To hot drinks, add a couple tablespoons of ACV (example, hot tea) with cinnamon and honey or lemon juice.
