Sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade are intended to hydrate and replenish the electrolytes lost during physical activity, but they come at a cost when you consider the dangerous food dyes and inordinate amounts of sugar that come along with them.
They are among the most processed drinks you can consume, and it's even more unfortunate that they are widely believed to be healthy thanks to persuasive marketing and sponsors.
More "natural" brands like Body Armor still contain tons of refined sugar and questionable natural flavors. There is a wide world of mismarketing when it comes to "health" or "sports nutrition" products.
While basic things like coconut water, watermelon juice, and hydrating fruits and vegetables are a much better source of clean electrolyte replacement, I also love to use a smoothie post-workout to rehydrate.

How can you clean up your hydration and electrolyte beverages? Drinks matter, too. :)
